Waking to a Winter Wonderland 20/12/10
The skies above Motspur Park darkened as the temperature fell and a prolonged downfall
of snow turned the area into a Winter Wonderland on Saturday, 18 December, 2010.
Here are some of the sights.
As Saturday-morning football is cancelled, youngsters build a snowman in the Sir Joseph Hood Playing Fields...
...then choose one of their friends to stand still as they push the snowman on to him
In Marina Avenue, snow flakes continue to fall as the road becomes covered...
...and a young woman in green wellies lies down and flaps her arms and legs to demonstrate how to make a snow angel
The pavilion in Sir Joseph Hood Playing Fields is covered in a white blanket
There are few horses to be seen on the path near Green Lane school. The Hamptons’ clocktower is just visible
The railway tracks towards Worcester park are covered in snow
The view from the level crossing towards Motspur Park Station
An inflatable snowman entertains friends in Linkway as Santa peeps through an upstairs window
The children’s playground in the park looks a bit desolate
Normally the park is crammed with young and old playing football and other activities on a Saturday morning
Silhouetted against a grey sky, the trees in West Barnes Lane have received a good dusting
