WANTED Stall holders for Craft Fair 14 May
On 12 May, from 2pm to 5pm, we are organising a Spring Craft Fair in Holy Cross Church Hall, Douglas Avenue, Motspur Park, KT3 6HT. It will be the fifth Craft Fair we have organised and it has become an anticipated event, with a good community spirit and a strong charity element. OPEN DAY Be Friendly to your Park!
Do you enjoy time in Sir Joseph Hood Memorial Playing Field − our local park? Do you take your children or grandchildren to the playground, play tennis or a round of crazy golf, kick a ball about? Perhaps you take your dog for a walk there − it's a lovely place for them to get their exercise. Do your children splash in the paddling pool in the holidays? To keep fit, do you jog and use the trim trail around the perimeter of the park? Maybe you like a simple walk through the park to enjoy the day.
Merton Council is facing huge budget cuts. Our park is under threat. Already, the hours the park attendants are on site have been reduced. When they are not there, the toilets are shut, maintenance falls and litter, vandalism and graffiti can grow.
It could become a place we don’t want to go.
The Friends of Sir Joseph Hood Memorial Playing Field don’t want to be alarmist. These things can be kept in check, but only with help. If you enjoy the park, and there are hundreds of visitors every day, can you take a moment to add your voice to support it? Please join the Friends today
It costs just £2 per household for whole year to be a member. A tiny price to pay for supporting this wonderful local facility. By joining the friends, you add your voice to all those who want the park to be preserved and developed for everyone today, tomorrow and in years to come. The more members there are, the louder the Friends' voice becomes when it debates our park's future with the Council and other funding bodies.

WANTED Your unused Tesco or Sainsbury’s vouchers
Do you have any Tesco or Sainsbury’s vouchers that you don’t know what to do with? The 22nd Wimbledon Scout Group in Arthur Road, Motspur Park, is collecting them to improve the facilities available to the young people. Vouchers can either be put in the postbox at the HQ in Arthur Road or dropped into a Section Meeting on Mondays, 6.30pm to 8.00pm; Tuesdays, 5.30pm to 9.15pm; or Thursdays, 7.30pm to 9.15pm.

The Wimbledon Hawks Australian Rules Football Club have their base in Motspur Park. The club has a strong English contingent, as half the first team needs to be from the EU. As we are always on the lookout for new English players, perhaps you fancy learning the game and having a kick?
