NEW LIBRARY FOR MOTSPUR PARK?

MotspurPark.info on FacebookTwitter

Library redevelopment plan aims for better site, community hall and loos

WEST Barnes Library could be rebuilt to provide improved facilities, more space, a community hall and public toilets. Merton Council will conduct a public consultation on proposals for the site, next to Motspur Park Station, from the end of January. The scheme would be similar to the Raynes Park Library mixed-use redevelopment and include homes on the upper floors. It is one of more than 30 potential development plans for council-owned sites including two other libraries in the borough, Wimbledon and Mitcham.

Wedding dresses and photographs

Holy Cross Mothers’ Union is celebrating National Marriage Week with an exhibition of members’ and friends’ wedding dresses and photographs at Holy Cross Church Hall on Saturday, 11 February between 2.30pm and 4.30pm.

Everyone is welcome. We will have our famous cake sale and will be serving afternoon teas, and there will be some small craft items for sale as well. Proceeds to Mothers’ Union charities.

If you still have your wedding dress and would like to put it on show, we will be delighted to show it off on your behalf, although you will have to bring it to the Church Hall, in Adela Avenue, between 1.00pm and 2.00pm and collect it any time after 4.30pm, as we cannot store dresses on your behalf.

If you have a tailor’s dummy or clothes rail we could borrow, we’d be glad to hear from you.

If you have any queries, please contact Sarah McAlister 020 8395 8069 or sarah.mcalister@blueyonder.co.uk
